Dear Millenial, You are Not Too Young to Retire

To retire as a young millennial and live freely while chasing your dreams, you must be obsessed with planning your retirement from this moment on or as early as possible.

Back in the day, retirement seemed like it was only for older people who were approaching the age of 60 and above. For young people such as millennials, retirement was nowhere to be found on our bucket list. We had the normal dreams: build or buy a house, acquire a Ferrari, get married and start a family, rise to the top of our career and become famous.

These days, however, retirement no longer seems far-fetched for the average millennial. It appears well within reach. And this is why: savings and investments have become democratized in the sense that more young people are gaining relevant and necessary knowledge about the proper approach to saving and investing.

No one wants to work hard for donkey years anymore. You can become a multimillionaire faster with the rise of decentralized finance (Defi) aimed at helping people earn a passive income. And that’s not all. We are in the digital age that affords us — especially as young people — the opportunity to diversify our income more easily than ever before.

When we think about the amounts of money we can make from creating content on various social media platforms such as YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, we cannot contain our excitement. There’s a huge potential for building enormous wealth that can have us living our actual dreams instead of slaving away at a basic job that pays us just enough to survive monthly until we are old and grey.

It is possible to retire at 30 or 35 and continue to live on passive income whereas some people would have you think that you must shift your retirement period to your 60s because it is believed that you would have had enough money saved up from having worked for so long by then.

As beautiful as retiring early sounds, there is only one way to make it your reality.

Retiring early means early retirement planning

To retire as a young millennial and live freely while chasing your dreams, you must be obsessed with planning your retirement from this moment on or as early as possible. There’s nothing wrong with saving up for a costly item you’d like to buy but you must not joke with your retirement planning to enable you to retire five years from now.
